Class A Lineman

The City of Lockhart is receiving applications for the position of an A- Class Lineman. Applications may be obtained at the Personnel Dept. at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio Street, during normal business hours. Benefits include a 20 year retirement plan, employee medical/life/dental insurance, sick/vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation. Position is Non-Exempt Pay Grade with a hiring range of $ 13.48 to $ 17.17 per hour depending on qualifications.

Position requires 4-7 years experience, able to climb poles or specialize in underground locates, operate digger truck, bucket truck and back yard machine and job knowledge in the following areas: reading, connecting/disconnecting electric meters, framing, installation and construction of distribution overhead and underground power lines and installation/maintenance of street lights. Do over-head, underground and secondary terminations. Hands on work on energized power line circuits and secondary lines. Trim trees away from high voltage and secondary power lines. Trouble shoots electrical power outages; switch feeders from various locations within the power system to minimize customer outages. Accurately complete daily tracking, mileage and other routine paper work and knowledge of basic computer (word/ excel). Must have knowledge of three phase and single phase over-head and underground transformer installations. Must be able to be on 24 hour call out and be able to respond within 15 minutes to the call or warehouse. Due to safety capacity limitations of service work bucket truck, combined personal weight, materials and tools cannot exceed 300 pounds. High school diploma or G E D preferred. Must have valid Texas Operator’s License and must be able to obtain Texas CDL License within 90 days of hire. Non-smoking environment.

Computer Instructor (Part-Time)
P/T COMPUTER INSTRUCTOR, City of Lockhart Technology Center, $8–$10.00 per hour DOQ. Teaches computer classes in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products, Job Searching Online and Internet/Email Classes. Supervises visitor’s computer usage. Must be good with teens, have teaching experience. Hours Mon. & Wed. 2p.m.-6p.m.; Tues. & Thurs. 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Fri. 1p.m.-5 p.m. Apply at Lockhart City Hall, 308 W. Library Clerk (Part-Time)
Library Clerk City of Lockhart, Dr. Eugene Clark Library, Salary: $7.25-$9.00 DOQ, Part time regular position. The successful candidate will be responsible Assisting patrons at the circulation desk. Work closely with Director of Library Services. Nights and Weekends required. One year clerical experience or public contact; computer knowledge; type 20 words per minute; ability to communicate effectively with patrons of all ages; ability to deal with large volume of work in short period and multiple tasks.
