IMMEDIATE POSITIONS AVAILABLE. The City of Lockhart will be holding a Civil Service Exam for Firefighter on Saturday, Sept 27, 2008.
Starting Salary: $31,521 and advancing to $32,271 after one year. Possibilities for additional pay include: certification pay, educational pay, longevity pay. Lineman II Apprentice
The City of Lockhart is currently hiring for the position of Lineman II Apprentice in lieu of a Class I Lineman. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position requires some working knowledge of distribution line construction, assisting with emergency calls, assisting with the installation and maintenance of street lighting and other related duties.
Applicants must have a good work history and possess a valid Texas operators driving license and must be able to obtain C.D.L. class A or B license within 90 days of hire. High School diploma or G E D preferred. Driving record for the last three years must be provided if considered for hire. If the applicant already has a C.D.L. license, the City will pay for the required D.O.T. physical and drug/alcohol testing. All C.D.L. positions are subject to random drug/alcohol testing. The City offers a 20 year full retirement plan, employee medical, sick/ vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation benefits. Non- smoking environment.
