Emma Jane
The dog is a great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix and her name is Emma Jane She is Cody's companion and Snow's new friend. The family lives in Round Rock. They say "she is the goofiest dog" we have ever seen! She has adapted very well to the family.

Sophie
Sophie was a stray dog found wandering the streets. She came to the shelter with long hair that was matted and full of ticks. The shelter staff shaved her and cleaned her up. They named her "Tickles" because she seemed to smile all the time and all through the grooming and tick removal, she remained happy.

Tickles was adopted by Jennifer from Round Rock. Jennifer was looking for a dog and happened to see Tickles listed on "Petfinder.com". She drove to Lockhart and they took Tickles home. They renamed her Sophie and she has become a big part of their family. Jennifer recently was married and while they were on their honeymoon, Sophie was boarded at the local kennel. Now Jennifer has to take Sophie to doggie daycare twice a week so she can play with the friends she made while being boarded. Sophie was about 35 pounds when adopted and now weighs 50 pounds and is almost a year old. Jennifer promises to send more pictures and keep us up to date on Sophie's progress.

Coco Beans
Sergio & I received your mailout today and were really happy to see what you're doing. I don't know if you remember but we adopted "Napoleon" (now Coco Beans or CB) from you about 2 years ago. Several months later we adopted another hound named "Annie" from San Antonio. They have adjusted well to one another although we had some rough spots :-)

Amie
We wanted to let you know how our girl Amie is doing--hard to believe she's only been with us about three weeks, it seems like she's been part of the family forever. She and our other dog Zorra were a bit testy at first, but now they seem to be working things out. They ignore each other most of the time, but now they are starting to hang out together a little bit. Amie is so loving, and wants nothing more than to be close to one of us all the time. She's lying next to my chair right now.

Amie has had some fairly serious health problems, but is getting better now.
That lump on her belly did turn out to be a malignant mammary tumor.
Fortunately it apparently had not spread to her lymph nodes or elsewhere, and we are told that it appears the vet got it all and that it is a type of tumor that is unlikely to reoccur. She had a pretty bad case of colitis, which has been cleared up now. That improved her bad breath, too! :-)

Amie is a very sweet little dog, and we all love her. We are so happy to be able to give this precious old girl a family and a home. We will send some pictures soon!

Vixen
I wanted to let you know how happy we are you saved Vixen's life when she was a very young puppy. I have attached a picture of her the first day we got her from in front of the south Austin PetCo. She was spayed by Best Vet and still goes there for her shots. We wanted to support their efforts in your program.
It seems like someone must have kept her on their lap or she is just plain sweet and loves human contact, but whatever you did, we are thankful!!!!
It turns out she is mostly Catahoula, a dog I had never even heard of before, here are the pictures.

Sheldon
sheldon20asleep.jpgsheldon2.jpgphot0004.jpg

Sheldon never has a dull moment. He has gained 8 pounds, has several toys, and loves to play, "dare to take the toy from him." He can't get enough of me. He knows when I come home by the sound of my security system sound on my truck. He always meets me at the door with a wagging tail and feet up on me. He gets alot of love and has become one of the family. Thanks for letting me adopt a wonderful dog.

JEWEL THOMPSON

Poppy
Poppy was born at the animal shelter where she remained for two years. Austin Dog Alliance, a rescue group, saw Poppy's picture & story on Petfinder & decided to give her a chance. Poppy has absolutely blossomed under Caryn's care.

"Andre the GIANT"!!!
andre4.jpgandre2.jpgandre1.jpg

I hope all of you will have a fantastic New Year. I thought I would send you a few pics of my Andre. Since adopting him in November, Andre the Giant (my sister named him & it stuck) has been making himself more at home. He refuses to come into the house & doesn’t want anyone too close to him yet. He is still VERY shy of people but I know that will change. He likes to play with my small dog, CoCo a Shitzu mix. They are quite the odd couple! We are thrilled to have him join our little ranch of rescued creatures; 1 horse, 1 chicken, 3 dogs (including Andre) and 2 ˝ cats (there is a large Tom Cat that stops in from time to time – so he is just ˝ our cat).

Thanks again for all your help in acquiring Andre!

Percy
I wanted to share this picture of my sweet kitten, Percy. I adopted him from you two weeks ago (previously named Pluto). He is such a delight.
