 | Emergency Medical Services Administration
Located at 214 Bufkin Lane Lockhart's EMS Administration has proudly provided comprehensive and innovative emergency medical care to the citizens of Lockhart and Caldwell county since 1987. This commitment to excellence earned us the 1995 Texas EMS System of the Year awarded by the Texas Department of Health.
The Lockhart EMS responds to approximately 2300 calls per year, serving a population of approximately 25,000 people. Our coverage area consists of the City of Lockhart and the northern two-thirds of Caldwell County bordered by Hays, Travis and Bastrop counties. Since we have no community hospital in Lockhart we transport our patients to Luling, San Marcos and Austin.
We take great pride in our service to the community. Our dedication to our community is the basis for our DWI Awareness programs as well as the Child Safety Seat program. We actively educate the public with frequent presentations in our schools, monthly CPR and First Aid classes and our EMT program. This dedication earned us the 1995 Public Provider of the Year Award. We continue to strive to maintain that high standard of service.
