Animal Control Officer
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications from qualified applicants for an Animal Control Officer. The applicants must be self-motivated, honest, dependable and be able to demonstrate good customer relation skills when dealing with the public. Candidate must be able to work without direct supervision. Applicant must be 18 years of age. Knowledge of animals and handling of animals preferred. Must be able to obtain ACO State Certification as courses become available as a condition of employment. Job includes responding to citizen calls to pick up stray animals; enforce animal control ordinances; educate animal owners of the city's animal control ordinances; and assisting with all aspects of shelter operations.

Applicants must have a current valid Class C Texas Driver's License. Successful applicants must be able to pass a physical that is be paid for by the city.

The starting hourly wage is $ 10.70 or more depending on experience and work history. Special consideration will be given to those applicants with good attendance, safety and work history references. Standard benefits are available including employee health insurance, sick, vacation and holiday leave, and a twenty (20) year full retirement benefit.

Animal Shelter Attendant/ACO
The City of Lockhart is seeking dependable, honest, and caring individuals for full-time employment as Animal Shelter Attendant/ACO. Candidate must be self motivated and be able to work without direct supervision. Must be 18 years of age, High School diploma or GED, Valid Texas Operator's license with a good driving record & have good customer relations skills. Knowledge of animals and diseases of animals preferred. Must be able to be on call and work weekends and holidays. Must be able to attend and successfully complete Animal Control Officer Certification course, Euthanization and CEU Courses as they become available as a condition of employment. Salary is $10.51 per hour. Job includes cleaning the animal shelter and caring for the animals. Class A Electric Lineman
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for two Class A Lineman positions. Applications may be obtained at the Personnel Dept. at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio Street, during normal business hours or online at www.lockhart-tx.org. Benefits include a 20 year retirement plan (City matches 2 to 1), employee medical/life/dental insurance, sick/vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation. Position is Non-Exempt Pay Grade with a hiring range of
$ 20.00 to $ 24.00 per hour DOQ.

Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience, able to climb poles or specialize in underground locates, operate digger truck, bucket truck and back yard machine and job knowledge in the following areas: reading, connecting/disconnecting electric meters, framing, installation and construction of distribution overhead and underground power lines and installation/maintenance of street lights. Do over-head, underground and secondary terminations. Hands on work on energized power line circuits and secondary lines. Trim trees away from high voltage and secondary power lines. Trouble shoots electrical power outages; switch feeders from various locations within the power system to minimize customer outages. Accurately complete daily tracking, mileage and other routine paper work and knowledge of basic computer (word/ excel). Must have knowledge of three phase and single phase over-head and underground transformer installations. Must be able to be on 24 hour call out and be able to respond within 25 minutes to the trouble call site or warehouse. Due to safety capacity limitations of service work bucket truck, combined personal weight, materials and tools cannot exceed 300 pounds. High school diploma or G E D required. Must have valid Texas Operator's License and must be able to obtain Texas CDL License within 90 days of hire. Non-smoking environment.

Controller

Fire Marshal
FIRE MARSHAL
Growing community seeks talented individual that is up to the challenges of service delivery that is code and customer friendly. An energetic and visionary individual that will be renovating the programs and services that will exceed customer expectations. The City of Lockhart will be holding a Civil Service Exam for Fire Marshal on Friday, March 10, 2017 to establish an eligibility list.

Starting estimated salary: $50,700. Possibilities for additional pay include: certification pay, education pay, assignment pay, and longevity pay. Benefits include: 3 weeks vacation leave annually, 3 weeks sick leave annually, 12 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday, 20 yr retirement, life insurance, & health insurance.

Water/Wastewater System Operator
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for one (2) positions of Water/Wastewater System Operator. Prefer experience in construction of water and sewer utilities, mechanical abilities, operate various types of equipment; dump truck, sewer pressure washing equipment, sewer main video camera, water main tapping tools, underground bore equipment. Must be available for on call duty and be able to respond within 25 minutes to the call site or warehouse. The applicant shall have a High School Diploma or GED, valid Texas Drivers License, possess or obtain within 18 months of employment water/wastewater license from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
