Assistant Building Official
The City of Lockhart is accepting job applications until filled for the position of Assistant Building Official. Depending on qualifications and experience the starting wage will be $ 17.89 to $24.11 per hour.

The City of Lockhart provides employee health insurance, sick and vacation leave, holiday pay, and offers a 20 year full retirement through the Texas Municipal Retirement System.

Minimum requirements include the certifications to inspect building, electric, plumbing, gas, and mechanical trades in accordance with adopted codes including local variances for residential, multi-family, and commercial construction. Plan review experience referred. Must obtain code enforcement officer certification within 12 months of hire.

Class I Lineman
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for the position of Lineman Class- I. Applications may be obtained at the Personnel Dept. at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio Street, during normal business hours. Benefits include a 20 year retirement plan, employee medical/life/dental insurance, sick/vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation. Position is Non-Exempt Pay Grade with a hiring range of $13.14 to $16.67 per hour DOQ.

Position requires 3 -4 years experience, able to climb poles and job knowledge in the following areas: reading, connecting/disconnecting electric meters, framing, installation and construction of distribution overhead and underground power lines and installation/maintenance of street lights. Completes daily tracking sheets, vehicle inspection sheets, and any other routine paper work and have basic computer skills. Have knowledge of three phase, single phase overhead and underground transformer installations. Must be able to be on 24 hour call out and be able to respond within 25 minutes to the trouble call site or warehouse. Due to safety capacity limitations of service work bucket truck, combined personal body weight, materials and tools cannot exceed 300 pounds. Must have High school diploma or G.E.D., valid Texas Operator's License and must be able to obtain Texas CDL License within 90 days of hire. Non-smoking environment. Position opened until filled.

Parks Worker I

Street Crew Foreman
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for the position of Street Crew Foreman. Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio St., in the Personnel Department, during normal business hours. Position open until filled.

Applicants must possess a valid Texas Operators license Class B CDL and must have a good driving record; Applicant must live within 25 minutes of City Limits of Lockhart for timely response to public emergencies. Experience in operating light & heavy equipment; in street/road and drainage/storm repair and maintenance; supervising crews and managing projects. Knowledge of pavement preservation & maintenance the properties of road building & maintenance materials such as: Emulsified Asphalts, Cutback Asphalt, Modified Asphalt cements, Black base & Limestone base material. Must be skilled in use of Level & grade rods for determining grades. Must have High School diploma or GED.

Successful applicant must pass DOT physical and drug-alcohol test. If hired, will be subject to random drug-alcohol testing. At times, this position requires working before and after normal work hours. The starting wage is $12.84 hr. depending on experience and qualifications. Street Worker II
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for the position of Street Worker II. Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio St., in the Personnel Department, during normal business hours. Position open until filled.

Applicants must possess a valid Texas Operators license and/or must be able to obtain Class B CDL License within 90 days of hire; must have a good driving record; Applicant must live within 25 minutes of City Limits of Lockhart for timely response to public emergencies. Experience performing all types of street repairs preferred; operates one or more equipment items for street repairs/maintenance; street markings/painting; drives brush truck and operates brush chipper; cuts brush; sign installation/repairs; fence repairs/installations; works at recycling center occasionally; other labor tasks; and drives dump trucks.

Water / Wastewater System Operator
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for the position of Water/Wastewater System Operator. Prefer experience in construction of water and sewer utilities, mechanical abilities, operate various types of equipment; backhoe, dump truck, sewer pressure washing equipment, sewer main video camera, water main tapping tools, underground bore equipment. Must be available for on call duty and be able to respond within 25 minutes to the call site or warehouse. The applicant shall have a High School Diploma or GED, valid Texas Drivers License, possess or obtain within 18 months of employment water/wastewater license from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
