Animal Shelter Attendant Part-Time
The City of Lockhart is seeking a self-motivating, honest; dependable, and caring individual for weekends and part time Animal Shelter Attendant. Candidate must be self-motivated and be able to work without direct supervision. Must be 18 years of age, High School diploma or GED. Knowledge of animals and diseases of animals preferred. Must have good customer relation skills. Salary range $10.32 - $12.02 per hour. Job includes cleaning the animal shelter and caring for the animals. Assistant Building Official
The City of Lockhart is accepting job applications until filled for the position of Assistant Building Official. Depending on qualifications and experience the starting wage will be $ 23.00 to $27.00 per hour.

The City of Lockhart provides employee health insurance, sick and vacation leave, holiday pay, and offers a 20 year full retirement through the Texas Municipal Retirement System.

Minimum requirements include the certifications to inspect building, electric, plumbing, gas, and mechanical trades in accordance with adopted codes including local variances for residential, multi-family, and commercial construction. Plan review experience referred. Must obtain code enforcement officer certification within 12 months of hire.

Class A Electric Lineman
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for two Class A Lineman positions. Applications may be obtained at the Personnel Dept. at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio Street, during normal business hours or online at www.lockhart-tx.org. Benefits include a 20 year retirement plan (City matches 2 to 1), employee medical/life/dental insurance, sick/vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation. Position is Non-Exempt Pay Grade with a hiring range of
$ 20.00 to $ 24.00 per hour DOQ.

Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience, able to climb poles or specialize in underground locates, operate digger truck, bucket truck and back yard machine and job knowledge in the following areas: reading, connecting/disconnecting electric meters, framing, installation and construction of distribution overhead and underground power lines and installation/maintenance of street lights. Do over-head, underground and secondary terminations. Hands on work on energized power line circuits and secondary lines. Trim trees away from high voltage and secondary power lines. Trouble shoots electrical power outages; switch feeders from various locations within the power system to minimize customer outages. Accurately complete daily tracking, mileage and other routine paper work and knowledge of basic computer (word/ excel). Must have knowledge of three phase and single phase over-head and underground transformer installations. Must be able to be on 24 hour call out and be able to respond within 25 minutes to the trouble call site or warehouse. Due to safety capacity limitations of service work bucket truck, combined personal weight, materials and tools cannot exceed 300 pounds. High school diploma or G E D required. Must have valid Texas Operator's License and must be able to obtain Texas CDL License within 90 days of hire. Non-smoking environment.

Economic Development Director
Directs and coordinates economic development department focusing on recruitment of new commercial, industrial, and retail businesses, and on retention and expansion of existing businesses.

Reports to the LEDC President which is the City Manager; works closely with LEDC board to achieve goals; supervises one assistant; works with local businesses and groups to promote all aspects of economic development in Lockhart; must have skills to train and motivate staff members; must have good communication skills and be able to speak publicly focusing on presentations and reports related to economic development and the Lockhart community.

Prefer bachelor's degree in Economics, Marketing, or related field with Economic Development Training; prefer 5 years of experience with Economic Development Corporation Sales Tax Law in Texas; also prefer Certified Economic Development status.

Benefits include a 20 year full retirement under the Texas Municipal Retirement System, employee health insurance, 13 holidays, standard sick/vacation leave, and a vehicle allowance. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
