Class I Lineman
The City of Lockhart is receiving applications for the position of Lineman Class- I. Applications may be obtained at the Personnel Dept. at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio Street, during normal business hours. Benefits include a 20 year retirement plan, employee medical/life/dental insurance, sick/vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation. Position is Non-Exempt Pay Grade with a hiring range of $12.47 to $15.82 per hour depending on qualifications.
Position requires 3 -4 years experience, able to climb poles and job knowledge in the following areas: reading, connecting/disconnecting electric meters, framing, installation and construction of distribution overhead and underground power lines and installation/maintenance of street lights. Completes daily tracking sheets, mileage reports, vehicle inspection sheets, and any other routine paper work and have basic computer skills. Have knowledge of three phase, single phase overhead and underground transformer installations. Must be able to be on 24 hour call out and be able to respond within 25 minutes to the call or warehouse. Due to safety capacity limitations of service work bucket truck, combined personal body weight, materials and tools cannot exceed 300 pounds. High school diploma or G E D preferred. Must have valid Texas Operator’s License and must be able to obtain Texas CDL License within 90 days of hire. Non-smoking environment.

Fire Fighter
FIRE FIGHTER
The City of Lockhart will be holding a Civil Service Exam for Firefighter on Saturday, May 19, 2012 to establish an eligibility list.
Starting estimated salary: $32,602 and increasing to $33,352 after one year. Possibilities for additional pay include: certification pay, educational pay, longevity pay. Benefits include: 3 weeks vacation leave annually, 3 weeks sick leave annually, 12 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday, 20 yr retirement, life insurance, & health insurance.

Lifeguard
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications from qualified persons for the position of Seasonal Swimming Pool Lifeguards. Persons applying must be certified as a Lifeguard and must be certified in CPR/First Aid Training. Must perform swimming pool lifeguard duties, pool maintenance/operational activities and assist with concession stand operations.

Street Worker II
The City of Lockhart is accepting applications for the position of Street Worker II. Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 308 W. San Antonio St., in the Personnel Department, during normal business hours. Position open until filled.
Applicants must possess a valid Texas Operators license and/or must be able to obtain Class B CDL License within 90 days of hire; must have a good driving record; Applicant must live within 15 minutes of City Limits of Lockhart for timely response to public emergencies. Experience performing all types of street repairs preferred; operates one or more equipment items for street repairs/maintenance; street markings/painting; drives brush truck and operates brush chipper; cuts brush; sign installation/repairs; fence repairs/installations; works at recycling center occasionally; other labor tasks; and drives dump trucks.
Successful applicant must pass DOT physical and drug-alcohol test. If hired, will be subject to random drug-alcohol testing. At times, this position requires working before and after normal work hours. The starting wage is $10.16 hr. depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include free health and dental insurance for the employee, paid holidays; vacation/sick leave benefits and membership in the Texas Municipal Retirement System.
