Starting Salary: $32,272 and advancing to $33,022 after one year. Possibilities for additional pay include: certification pay, educational pay, longevity pay. Lineman II Apprentice
The City of Lockhart is currently hiring for the position of Lineman II Apprentice. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position requires some working knowledge of distribution line construction, assisting with emergency calls, assisting with the installation and maintenance of street lighting and other related duties.

Applicants must have a good work history and possess a valid Texas operators driving license and must be able to obtain C.D.L. class A or B license within 90 days of hire. High School diploma or G E D preferred. Driving record for the last three years must be provided if considered for hire. If the applicant already has a C.D.L. license, the City will pay for the required D.O.T. physical and drug/alcohol testing. All C.D.L. positions are subject to random drug/alcohol testing. The city offers a 20 year full retirement plan, employee medical, sick/ vacation leave, 12 paid holidays and deferred compensation benefits. Non- smoking environment.

The City of Lockhart will be holding a Civil Service Exam for POLICE OFFICER on Tuesday, December 15, 2009.

Starting Salary: $37,440 and advancing to $38,480 after one year. Possibilities for additional pay include: certification pay, education pay, longevity pay, assignment pay for Detectives & Field Training Officers, & shift differential pay. Uniforms provided-uniform allowance provided for detectives. No experience or certification required. For select applicants, the City of Lockhart is currently offering the opportunity to receive paid cadet salary ($30,000 annually) and tuition expenses while gaining your TCLEOSE certification. Certain conditions apply.
