|  | Diez Y Seis Diez Y Seis is Lockhart's annual festival celebrating the declaration of Mexico's Independence from Spain. The festival is held on the second weekend in September each year and and is sponsored by Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lockhart. A variety of events are held such as live entertainment, contests, and an art show at the library. Residents also browse many booths with a large variety of items to purchase, while enjoying a huge array of food available.
Entertainers that perform are the Ballet folkorico del Cielo,Daniel's compania de danza artistica performing salsa mirenge & oldies dancers, La Vision & Alma Tejana , L&M horserides, Anissa's trainexpress, Mata's bouncing buddies, Taste of cultures, Los Tres Amigos Y Pepe Mariaches. Contests are also included such as a Tortilla throwing contest, a Jalapeno Eating contest. The Queen coronation on Saturday.
An Art show also takes place at the Dr. Eugene Clark Library on Main Street. Artists included last year are: Alamo Bobbin Lacers, Thom Earnest, JoNell Hall, Hal Shipley, Jan Meeks, Patty Rucker, Bruce Head, Donnie Haywood Sr., Adair Rucker, Ila McCrury, Patricia Scheider, Kay Studer, Sandie Lock, Annie Thomas, Pete Balandran, and various Lockhart High School Students.
