|Lockhart Area Senior Citizen Activity Center|
The Lockhart Area Senior Citizen Activity Center is a place where people, primarily seniors at this point can visit, play games, read, eat, and learn. For those 50 years of age and older wishing to become members, the fee is $15.00 per year. (See pictures below)
The Center runs a daily kitchen, which serves low cost homemade meals to the entire community. (Adults - $5.00 eat in, $5.50 take outs, $6.00 delivered (must be approved). Children under 12 yrs. $3.00) Monday-Friday, 11:00am-1:00pm.
The Center also manages a thrift shop, which sells new and used household goods, including clothes, books, and shoes, Tuesday-Friday, 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Household items/donations are accepted daily at the thrift shop and pickup can be arranged by calling the Center.
The Center has a small gift shop with nice used items for sale and used books that sell for: paperback 5 for $1.00 or .25 cents each and hard back 3 for $1.00 or .50 cents each. Book donations are also accepted.
Exercise Class for seniors is offered Mon. Wed. Fri. starting at 8:30. A variety of exercise levels are practiced, so please come by the center and enjoy the camaraderie.
Our seniors work diligently at putting puzzles together and when complete, they are glued and framed for sale.
The current Board of Directors for the Center are: Jackie O'Brien- president, Diana Coker- vice-president , Pat Schneider- secretary, Donnie Young- treasurer, Charlotte Rhoades, Jane Hyatt, Jo Windham, Linda Howard.
