There are many fun activities you can take advantage of in the Lockhart Area.
The Lockhart State Park offers biking, swiming, hiking, camping, and golf facilities. The Leisure Camp and RV Park offers swimming, hiking, and camping.
The City Park has a large fishing pond (pictured) and a ampitheater stage for performances. Swimming is also available as well as numerous sports activities. The City Park also hosts a variety of annual events such as, July 4th celebration, Kidfish, and the Bicycle Rodeo.
The Sports Complex is behind the City Park and hosts various sports activies:
baseball, little league, and soccer.
Lockhart High School sports a large footall field with a running track in front.
We also have horseback riding in the outlying areas in Caldwell, Hays, and Bastrop counties.
Lockhart Community Recreation Center has recreational activities year round including basketball, volleyball, softball, t-ball, flag football, tennis and more.

Lockhart has the Aviator Movie Theatres located at 120 Cunningham Dr. has six screens.
Lockhart has two very active community theaters that have a large variety of comedy, drama, and musical productions all year round. Both theaters have children involvement with some of their productions and the Baker has a Youth Actors Workshop. Anyone who is interested may audition for available roles in any play. They also welcome volunteers interested in helping backstage as well as in front of the house! Lockhart has two musical monthly events: Country Music Show- the third Tuesday of each month, sponsored by the Lockhart Breakfast Lions Club at 7:30pm at the Lockhart Community Theater, 218 S. Main. Admission is $2 and is applied to scholarships given to students. The "Lockhart Opry" is the fourth Monday of each month sponsored by the Lockhart Evening Lions Club at the Lockhart Evening Lions Community Center, 220 Bufkin Lane. 7:30 p.m. Admission $3 goes to scholarships.
