COVID-19 testing available in Lockhart on Sunday, May 10

A drive-through COVID-19 test site will be available on Sunday, May 10 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Lockhart Junior High School located at 500 City Line Rd.


The Texas Military Department will be operating the testing location with coordination support from the Emergency Medical Task Force. DSHS, along with the Hospital Preparedness Program Healthcare Coalition, will provide public health and medical input.


Individuals who wish to be tested must have an appointment and be pre-screened to receive testing. If an individual meets the screening requirements for testing, there will be no charge. Only individuals who meet the COVID-19 screening requirements will be tested.


To be medically screened for COVID-19 testing in Lockhart, please contact the call center (no sooner than Sunday, April 26) at 512-883-2400 or txcovidtest.org. If you need immediate medical attention, please contact your physician or the Ascension COVID hotline at 833-919-1680 for screening. For additional information call the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management COVID-19 Hotline at 512-359-4637.



To allow for access to the testing site, the following road closures will be in place from approximately 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

Road closures to through traffic will include:

  • Maple Street (Cesar Chavez/SH130 frontage to City Line Road)
  • Lantana Avenue at Maple Street
  • Yucca Drive at Maple Street
  • City Line Road/Clearfork Street to Borchert  Lane


Vehicles traveling to the site will access it by heading west on Clearfork Street, turning right to head northbound on City Line Road and then turning right on Maple to enter the site area. Vehicles will exit the testing site through the intersection of City Line Road and Borchert Lane (Northbound traffic only).
