Construction Standards and Contractor License Information 

Note to Residents, Contractors & Developers 
If your property is located within the Lockhart city limits, it is subject to City codes and ordinances. If the property is within the City's extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), the property is subject to subdivision and signage regulations. 

Developers 
If you are developing a new subdivision or building a new facility, the construction standards below will be useful to assist in providing much information to answer questions about infrastructure and to view the City of Lockhart's Construction Standards regulations. Each contractor will also be required to obtain a contractor's license from the city.

 

Contractor Registration 
To register, contractors must submit an application and required materials to the Development Services Department. Those materials include the general contractor application, eight (8) supporting documents and payment of the license as indicated in the general contractor packet. City of Lockhart General Contractor License expire on December 31st of each year.

To register, subcontractors (electric, plumbing & mechanical) must submit copy of the driver's license, a copy of their professional license, and a copy of their liability insurance with the City of Lockhart named as a certificate holder. Registration will expire with license expiration.
