GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The City of Lockhart has adopted Chapter 143 of the Local Government Code which applies to the organization and operation of the fire department.
FIREFIGHTER EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Must be a citizen of the United States
- Age 18 to 35 at the time of the written exam
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
- Must pass a written Civil Service exam & Physical Ability Test (PAT)
- Basic Firefighter Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) (or enrolled in a fire academy)
- Basic EMT certification from Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS)
- (or current enrollment in EMT class)
- Applicants will be subject to background checks for driving and criminal records
HOW TO APPLY
