MISSION STATEMENT

"The mission of the Lockhart Police Department is to protect and serve; to improve the quality of life for all residents by reducing crime and reducing the fear of crime through partnerships with the community."

 

 

VISION STATEMENT

The Vision of the Lockhart Police Department is to be dedicated to a better community and to provide the  highest quality of police service; proactive service and creating partnerships with the community focusing on improving their quality of life through community policing philosophy.

 

 

VALUES OF THE LOCKHART POLICE DEPARTMENT

  • Believes that the public should have input into the development of policies which directly impact the quality of neighborhood life.

  • Will seek the input of employees into matters which impact employee job satisfaction and effectiveness.

  • Believes in the value of decentralization and that every police effort is pushed down toward the neighborhood level unless there is a specific reason for the effort to be centralized, such as a concern with a citywide problem or issue.
  • Believes the highest commitment of the community policing philosophy; respect for and sensitivity to all citizens and their problems; the skills of positive social interaction in dealing with crime, disorder, or other problem solving.
