Since May, the Texas Department of State Health Services stopped allocating COVID-19 vaccines to providers every week. However, that doesn’t mean there are no doses available in our community. The Texas DSHS still fills vaccine orders from local providers. If you, or someone you know, still needs to get vaccinated, here are ways you can locate a vaccine:
- Check with your doctor/medical provider: Your doctor may have enrolled to be a COVID-19 vaccine provider and have doses available.
- Locate a COVID-29 vaccine clinic through Vaccines.gov: This website allows you to search for a location by zip code and your vaccine preference.
- Visit a vaccine hub near you: Texas established large vaccination hubs statewide to reach more people with the vaccine. The nearest vaccine hubs in Lockhart are the following:
- Bastrop County:
- Travis County:

This week, the Texas DSHS reported that 11 million Texans are now fully vaccinated. The hospitalization rate in our Trauma Service Area (TSA), which includes Austin, closes out the week at 1.94 percent.
