Lockhart Area Senior Citizen Activity Center

The Lockhart Area Senior Citizen Activity Center is a place where people, primarily seniors, can visit, play games, read, share a meal, and learn. For those 50 years of age and older wishing to become members, the fee is $40 per year.

The Center operates a daily kitchen, which serves low-cost meals to the entire community. (Adults - $7.00 eat in, $7.50 take outs, $8 delivered (must be approved), 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Lunches are available to the general public of all ages, don’t have to be a member to eat at the Center.

The Center also manages a thrift shop, which sells new and used household goods, including gently used clothes, books, and shoes, Monday-Thursday, 12 p.m.- 3 p.m. Household items and clothing donations are accepted during normal operation hours. Tax receipts are available upon request.

The Center has a small gift shop in the main building with nice used items for sale and used books that sell for: paperback 25 cents each and hardback are 50 cents each. Book donations are also accepted at the main building.

Exercise Class for seniors is offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting at 8:30 a.m. A variety of exercise levels are practiced, so please come by the center and enjoy the camaraderie.

Weekly Activities

Monday, Wednesday, Friday- 8:30 a.m.: Video with walking exercises.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday- 9:30 a.m.: Lower impact chair exercises.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday- 12:30 p.m.: Card games, dominos, etc.

Tuesday, Thursday-12:30 p.m.: Mah Jong games.
