Finance Department

The Finance Department is responsible for the general supervision and management of the Accounting/Tax, Personnel, Purchasing, and Utility Accounting activities.

This department operates a governmental accounting and budgeting system that provides financial information to both external users and internal management and is responsible for functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital budget reporting and financial reporting which includes preparations of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The Finance Department has been recognized by the Government Financial Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada with its highest distinction in governmental accounting and financial reporting for fiscal years 2019 and 2020.

Other direct responsibilities include investments & cash management, debt issuance, financial policies and long range planning, administration of the City's insurance programs, budget development and coordination, annual audit preparation, rate and user fee review, banking and other special projects.
