Voluntary Curbside Single Stream Recycling Service

What is "Curbside Single Stream Recycling?"
A method of collecting recyclable items right from the curb! Items do not have to be pre-sorted into 95 gallon container bins, simply place the items in the bin provided to you and take it to the curb. That's it!

 

When is it collected?

Accepted recyclables will be collected on the following dates:

 

  

 

What is accepted?

  • Cardboard and boxboard that is bundled and less than 1/4 cubic yard.
  • Tin, steel and aluminum cans that are rinsed out.
  • Clear, milk, and soda plastic containers that are rinsed out and have caps/lids removed. (This includes any plastic bottles that show a 1—7 on the bottom)
  • Newspaper, magazines, office paper, computer paper, and phone books containerized and/or bundled.

**GLASS NOT ACCEPTED.

 

How do I sign up?
Complete and return a Curbside Recycling Sign Up Form to City of Lockhart, PO Box 239, Lockhart, Texas 78644 or in person at 308 West San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas. You can also complete the form and return it to the City of Lockhart with your utility bill payment.

Is there a fee?
$3.79 per month.

Why recycle?
Reduce waste in the landfills; reduce water pollution; protect wildlife by reducing the need to damage forests, wetlands and rivers; and countless reasons more!

To drop off acceptable items at the Lockhart Recycling Center, FREE of charge, visit the center at 110 North Brazos Street.
